KC103 - Pressed Steel Car Co. Tank Cars
Pressed Steel Car Company built a large group of 8,000 gallon tank cars in the late 1920s primarily for North American’s tank leasing operations. In the late 1940s, when A. E. Staley’s tank operations were turned over to North American, many of these cars were lettered in AESX reporting marks and painted in eye-catching white or orange schemes. Rohm-Haas was another lessee.
Speedwitch is offering full conversion kits to replicate these cars. The kits are complete “kitbashes-in-a-box” that include the necessary parts to build a prototypically accurate model, including etched metal ladders and etched metal uncoupling lever brackets. The models will be offered in several schemes, including NATX, A. E. Staley, and Rohm & Haas.
Rohm & Haas version to follow.
NOTE: We are awaiting a shipment of undecorated kits from Intermountain. There is no current ETA for these parts and, as such, deliveries for these kits are currently delayed. If you place an order for multiple kits, including these, the other kits will be mailed immediately and these will be mailed whem available.
